What to Expect

1

Free Introductory Call

If you’d like, we can begin with a free 15-minute introductory call on Microsoft Teams. This is a chance to ask any questions, share a little about what’s on your mind, and see together whether we’re a good fit to work with one another.

2

Intake

Intake typically spans several sessions (up to three or four). During this time, we take the opportunity to explore your background, concerns, and goals in depth. A thorough assessment is important, as it helps me develop a clear understanding and provide a personalized approach to support your well-being.

3

Counselling Sessions

We begin addressing your challenges collaboratively using evidence-based techniques. Together, we set goals and establish a path toward meaningful change, ensuring the process reflects your needs and preferences.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

FAQs

1. How do I know if counselling is right for me?

Counselling can be helpful if you're feeling overwhelmed by emotions. This can mean struggling with anxious thoughts, low mood, or simply looking for support through challenging times. If you're unsure, a free introductory call can help you determine if counselling is the right fit for you.

2. What can I expect from our first sessions?

During your first sessions, we will discuss your background, goals, and challenges. This intake session helps us establish a personalised approach, ensuring that we focus on what matters most to you.

3. Where is your practice located?

My practice is located at Rudolfstrasse 3, 4054 Basel, within Praxis Evia. In the center of Basel, Praxis Evia offers a location easily accessible by public transport. The nearest tram stop is Brausebad (Trams 1 and 6), making it easy to reach from across the city.

4. How long does counselling take?

The duration of counselling depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients may see significant improvement in a few sessions, while others may need longer-term support. We will regularly review your progress and adjust as necessary.

5. How can I learn more about your background and approach?

I would love to share more about who I am and how I work. You can find that information on my About page.

6. How do I book a session?

You can easily book a session through the contact form. If you're unsure about the process or have any questions, feel free to book a free 15-minute introductory call to discuss your needs before scheduling your first session, and to see if we are the right fit.

7. Is insurance accepted?

My services are not covered by Swiss health insurance. While I am a qualified psychologist, my sessions are considered private and therefore not eligible for reimbursement. You may be eligible for supplementary insurance coverage; however, that is between you and your insurance provider. I strive to offer professional, compassionate support at a transparent rate. To make therapy more accessible, I have a limited number of spaces available at a sliding scale for students or individuals experiencing financial hardship. If you have any questions about fees or the counselling process, feel free to reach out.

8. Is online counselling as effective as in-person counselling?

Yes, studies show that teletherapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. It offers the added benefit of convenience and comfort, allowing you to attend sessions from home and on your schedule.
